Carra's photo session!

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I did (but it was too short)!!! Last Friday I had a great time taking Carra's pictures, she was such a trooper! Carra said she was up for anything---so..... We went through some really tall grass, and found a creek down under an overpass. It was BEAUTIFUL under the overpass (although I must admit I was terrified I would find a snake!!) I hope you enjoy some of her photos!

Post Secret

Tonight I had a pretty cool opportunity. My university hosted the founder of Post Secret (Frank Warren) http://postsecret.blogspot.com/. When I was in highschool a friend of mine and I would go to a local book store and read these books for hours... The idea: complete strangers mail this man their deepest darkest secrets on the backs of postcards.... He (Frank) has put a bunch of them into books. He has been featured on Good Morning America, 20/20 and others... he is considered "The World's Most trusted Man." Here are some snap-shots of him reading several of these secrets.....

Post #2 of the day- I am on a roll!

Yesterday was VERY relaxing! My husband and I have a two-year old princess. We love our princess to death, and yesterday she went on a mini-vacation to my parents so we could get TONS of school-work done before finals week! After me crying a tiny bit we decided to go take a walk on a local nature trail. It was sooo quiet and relaxing.... and of course I took my camera! ENJOY!

Photography meet-up

I am going to try to get two posts in one day! HERE WE GO!!!

I had the most AMAZING weekend! My printing lab hosted a seminar with some amazing classes! On Friday morning I attended a wedding class, this class was great. The class went into depth on everything regarding weddings, and then we were able to shoot a bride! (see photos)... I attended 3 more classes throughout the 2 day seminar- all were amazing! Each night there were amazing door prizes given away! I had the opportunity to win both nights! I won some actions for photoshop and some BEAUTIFUL newborn props!

It was really great to meet-up with photographers from all around the United States! All-in-all I left the weekend inspired and even more excited about photography!

Also this weekend made me realize that selling digitals is becoming a huge trend in our industry- I have held out for quite some time- but I would like to proudly announce that I now have digital options! (****see pricing tab on the website.... http://mollynewellphotography.com)

Woolaroc Photo Trip!

Last Friday I left Kansas and headed to Oklahoma to attend a photography conference. The conference was at Woolaroc in Bartelsville Oklahoma! It was a really exciting conference and I had a blast shooting more landscape/animals, I don't get to do that often!

One of the highlights from the trip was going to the Mountain Man encampment. These men, women and children camp out as some of the first settlers to America would have. These people were AMAZING, it felt like I had walked back in time. Most of the "Mountain Men" had normal jobs but would camp when they could, others were planning on staying out there for the whole summer! It was so relaxing there! No cell phones, computers, TVs....just fresh air and nature all around you! I had a blast getting to meet these amazing people (more pictures to come in an upcoming post).

After a delicious lunch (that included buffalo meat), I attend several classes and had a chance to soak up some great photography advice from Jerry Poppenhouse (former-head photographer for Phillips). I met Jerry a month or so ago at a photography seminar, and he has critiqued my portfolio- it is just awesome to learn from him. Jerry has worked for National Geographic-traveled the world taking photos, and has photographed Walt Disney, and even was a photographer at Princess Diana's wedding....basically he is awesome, it was awesome!

After all the classes were done we (Student Association of Photographers) took some back roads and took landscape shots and walked with buffalo (yes they were that close)!!!

All in all- great trip I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Over the Easter weekend I had the pleasure of photographing my cousin's beautiful new daughter! This little girl has the most FABULOUS hair!

I hope that everyone has had an amazing Easter! I know that my family did! It was a fun and busy day! The weather, everything was almost perfect and BOOM allergies! Thats a bummer! Well over the past weekend I had the opportunity to take some of my littlest brother's senior pictures. He plays tennis- so we went out the court and snapped some shots! (above)
